Charles King's Freedom In Christ Ministries at a Glance
Charles King is The pastor of a thriving house church group in London. With over 40 years of ministry experience. This both with children, youth, and adults ministry.
We are a church that is dedicated to making disciples as Jesus told us to do, teaching them to observe/obey the teachings of Jesus.
Our main tool for this is the use of the four fields approach which begins with care trough prayer, where we pray for specific people that the Lord puts upon our hearts. this could be family, and or the community in which we live. see below for more information.
I came that they might have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10
Who is Jesus talking about in this verse. He is talking about anyone who enters through Him.
Anyone who becomes born again through accepting Jesus as their Saviour and has entered into eternal life. ANYONE! Every adult and child can have eternal abundant life. There are some that think that this is talking about the life to come. That great and glorious day when we get to heaven. I
can understand why people can think this. The truth is this, that the word of God is given so that we can prosper in every area of our lives right here and now. In this life that we live every day. Even in the so-called Lord’s prayer Jesus said the we should command “God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
So, what is abundant life? It is about being prosperous. Not just in wealth, and things that come with wealth. It is not just being healthy in body and mind. It is not just having so much joy, that it just flows out of us everywhere we go. It is not just having peace in our minds being at peace with
everyone, and everything we do. It is not even being so full of God’s love that everyone thinks well of us as we give out that love. Abundant life is all of these things and more. It is about the covenant of grace that God put into place with us.
God’s promises say that we will have more than enough. In every area of our lives. During the discourse of Jesus where He came to the above verse about abundant life. He makes a reference to an old testament scripture about the blessing of keeping the law. Where Moses wrote about the blessings and the curses associated with keeping or braking the law. Before we look at that I need to point out that we are not under law, but under grace. As it says many times in the new testament. The reason for this is Jesus. He redeemed us from the curse of the law.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written,
“cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree. Galatians 3:13
We cannot fulfill the law, but Jesus did, on our behalf. He took away all the curses of the law that are written and bore them in His body. This is so we did not have to accept any of the curses that try to come upon us. Sicknesses and diseases, aches and pains, even poverty is a curse of the law. We should be enjoying the blessings of God not the curses. So, the thing that Jesus said that relates back to the blessings of obeying the law. The one thing I want to point out, is this:
I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9
and back in Deuteronomy 28, it says this:
Blessed will you be in the city, blessed will you be in the field. Blessed shall you be when you come in, blessed will you be when you go out. Deuteronomy 28:3,5
When do we have eternal life? We have it now; we are living in eternal life now. We should be living in abundant life now also. The simple answer to what is abundant life, is to be living each and every day in all of the blessings of God. That is spiritually, physically, and financially. God is
concerned with every area of our lives. The blessings in Deuteronomy include blessings of the fruit of our bodies, (children). Blessings on the fruit of our labors, (financial). Blessings on our storehouses, (savings). It says that He will establish us as a holy nation, (Spiritually).
For you are a Chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own
possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him, who has called you out of
darkness into His marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9
This is how God sees us. This a part of abundant life, to show, proclaim, to share the excellencies of Him who called us. We do this by the way we live abundantly, and tell with words and actions how we are blessed by God. In the place that I work as far as I know I am the only employee that
does not have time off work for sickness. It is noticed by my employers. When they mention something about it to me, it is an opportunity for me to share my faith. The reasons for my walking/living in divine health. I even get to give testimonies of how I began to feel the symptoms of illness and had to rebuke them and stay healthy. This a part of living an abundant life, walking by the Spirit. Knowing that I, we have the power to be in control of anything that comes against us. This is true in every part of our lives, spiritually, physically and financially. It is a walk of faith. We should be walking in the demonstration of the power of God every day.
The kingdom of God is within us. God is within us through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are a part of the house of God. We are Living stones. That means we are not dead, we are alive in Him. Jesus is alive in us. That life of Jesus should be flowing out of us. We have the same power and authority that was with Jesus, because He is in us. By His Spirit, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. All things mean’s all things. Abundant life, where nothing will be able to stand against us. God is for us. Do you believe the word of God. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body. Proverbs 4;22
If you attend to the word of God, receive it and live it you should not get sick, you will have health to all your body. We are made in the image of God. Spirit and soul clothed in a body. Three in one. You could say that we are a holy trinity. Just as God is, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We have
the Holy Spirit living inside of us. We are Holy because He is Holy. Some come to god in an attitude of unworthiness. This should not be if you read and understand all of the benefits of the new life that we have in Christ. We should read and search the word for the great things God says and has done for us. We need to get to know exactly who we are in Christ.
Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17
Once we know who we are in Christ, we can begin to understand the truth o all the blessings that God has laid up for us. Not for when we get to heaven, but for right here and now in this life, on this Earth.
