What does Abundant Life mean?

Without even thinking about it, the first thing that comes to mind is this. Abundant life means a life that is more full, in every way than the normal. That is just from a natural worldly way of looking at it. I think that as Christians, we have come to a point where we cannot see past this natural worldly way of thinking.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2 NASB

There are many ways to look at this scripture abut Abundant life, but today I want us to see what abundant life means in relation to C 19 virus. They gave it a name, Praise God! We have a Name that is far above any name. It is the name of Jesus.

A question, If the Lord were to come and stand right in front of you, and place His hand on you; then said receive abundant life; Do you think that any sickness or disease or virus would be included in that life? No of course not, Those things are in the world. But Jesus has given to us abundant life. With that life, He has given to us the authority over anything that is in the world.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

This virus is in the world because of sin in the world. Sin is a far worse virus than C19. Yet we are willing and readily accept sin that is passed from one person to another; from one generation to another. SIN IS THAT WHICH DESTROYS! If a person dies in sin they are lost from eternal life forever.

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:56-57

Can you see this, the virus C19 is a product of sin in the world designed to kill people before they can come to the Lord. The enemy wants to take as many of God’s prized creation, (man) to hell with him as he can. Those who do not have eternal life. Think about that for a while.

Everyone who does not have the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus is at risk of dying without Jesus. This virus is one way that more can die sooner without hearing the good news of the abundant life that Jesus has prepared for us.

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Romans 8:1-2

To me, Abundant life in this instance means to live a life free from sickness and disease. Jesus died that we would be freed from sickness. We were healed by His stripes. Along with this is the authority that He gave to us, to be able to stand against any sickness that tries to come upon us. Also that we would lay hands on the sick and they will recover.
